About Geoff
Geoff grew up in Glen Waverley and was school captain of Glen Waverley Secondary College. With a passion for Glen Waverley that only comes from it being in your blood, he has been our representative on Council for more than a decade.
A lawyer and financial conservative, he has worked to keep our rates low and eliminate millions of dollars of debt. Monash is now debt free for the first time ever. He is the reason why Monash rates are lower than any other council.
Geoff’s unrelenting focus on residents means he can help residents with tricky issues which arise. He has a demonstrated track record of helping residents and getting things done on Council.
Most people are too busy to follow the Council and that’s why we need to be able to trust our representatives. With Geoff, we know him and trust him.
He has a record we trust and the priorities we share.
A record we trust…
- Victoria’s lowest rates
- A debt free council since 2015 (for the first time ever for Monash)
- Reduced Council bureaucracy
- Increased spending on capital works and local infrastructure
- Introduced the $50 rate rebate for pensioners
- New energy-efficient street lights – reducing Council’s carbon footprint by 18% and saving over $400K per year
- No junkets, no pomp, no ceremony
- Resolving issues and fixing problems for residents
- Stopped dysfunctional meetings
- High quality and efficient services
Priorities we share…
- Low rates
- Focusing on core council functions, not mission creep
- Protecting our neighbourhoods from inappropriate development
- Transforming Kingsway
- Fighting for rate reform to stop ‘bill shock’ caused by skyrocketing property prices
- A new 800 to 1,200 space FREE car park on Montclair Avenue in the heart of Kingsway
- Backing residents over unfair Council red tape
- A Council working efficiently for us
